Multiples of 4: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28...
Multiples of 9: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45...
Here, 12 + 36 = 48
∴ 3 cars of 4 - seater and 4 cars of 9-seater are required to accomodate 48 people without leaving empty seats.
