  • Artificial rain is induced by the compound silver iodide(AgI) , Hence ‘Z’ is silver iodide
  • X is iodine because iodine is water insoluble and soluble in alcohol.
  • Y is silver (Ag)

Part II - Advantages of artificial rain and other substance which can be used for cloud seeding

  • Artificial rain is helpful for drought area so that vegetation can be done.
  • Silver nitrate(AgNO3) and dry ice can also be used for cloud seeding
