0.5 moles of Ca atoms


The explanation for the correct option :

(B)1 mole of CaCO3= Molecular mass of CaCO3

The molecular mass of CaCO3= (Mass of Ca+mass of C+3×Mass of O).

= (40+12+3×16)

= 100g.

Also 1 mole of CaCO3= 1 mole of Ca atoms.

So, 0.5 moles of CaCO3= 0.5 mole of Ca atoms.

1 mole of CaCO3= 100g.

0.5 moles of CaCO3= 50g.

Explanation for the incorrect option :

(A) 50 moles of CaCO3 will be = 50×Molecular mass of CaCO3.

(C) 1 mole of CaCO3 = 1 mole of Calcium carbonate ions.
