Volume of hydrogen = 50 mL; Time for diffusion (t) = 20 min and

volume of oxygen = 40mL.

Rare of diffusion of hydrogen (rA) = 50/20 = 2.5 mL/min

Rate of diffusion of oxygen (rB) = 40/t mL/min

Since the molecular mass of hydrogen (MA) = 2 and that of oxygen (MB) = 32

therefore

As we know, rArB=V1/t1V2/t2=MBMA



Given, V1=50 ml, V2=40 ml, t1=20 min, t2=?

By putting all those values, 2.540t2=322
we get = t2=64 min

Hence, the correct option is B
