Question

500 gram of an aqueous solution of Urea is prepared by dissolving urea in 450 gram water . Find mass percentage of urea in this solution

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Mass of Solution = 500 g
Mass of water = 450 g
Mass of Urea = x g
Mass of the solution = Mass of Urea + Mass of Water
500 = x g + 450g
x = 500 - 450
x = 50 gm
Concentration % (mass percent) = Mass of solute/Mass of solution x 100
= 50/500 x 100
= 5000/500
= 10%
