Copper or aluminium wires are used in electricity transmission because-

  • They are ductile and hence can be easily drawn into wires. It is repellent to corrosion also.
  • They are good conductor of electricity and have low resistance.
  • This allows them to pass the current through them.
  • Copper and aluminium are excellent electrical conductors and their wires are commonly used for electrical transmission.
