Question

7. 2x+y26

Open in App
Solution

The inequality is given as 2x+y6.

First draw the graph of,

2x+y=6(1)

Put x=0 in equation (1),

y=6

Similarly, put y=0 in equation (1),

x=3

Substitute 0 for x and 0 for y in the given inequality.

0+06 06

The above inequality is false because 0 can never be greater than or equal to 6, therefore the graph will shade away from the origin.

Draw the graph from the obtained coordinates ( 0,6 ) and ( 3,0 ).

The graph of inequality in the two dimensional plane is drawn as,

Figure (1)

Figure (1) shows the shaded region which gives the solution of the inequality.

The points on the line are the solution of the inequality because 2x+y6.

Thus, the shaded region shows the solution of inequality 2x+y6.
