745 students have to be arranged in equal to the number of rows and columns to form a square. Find the number of rows/columns, if 16 students are left out after the arrangement.

Open in App
Solution

Number of students in the arrangement = 745 - 16 = 729.

So, the number of rows will be equal to the square root of 729

729 = 27×27 = 27

Hence number of rows = number of columns = 27
