Part I - Definition of Biogas

Biogas is a renewable fuel produced by mixing together agricultural waste, animal waste, and domestic waste which ultimately undergoes breakdown by various anaerobic methanogens and thus leads to the formation of biogas composed of methane, carbon dioxide, and a smaller amount of nitrogen.

Part II - Advantages of biogas

  • It is a renewable source of source of energy, hence can be replenished again
  • Gas generated through biogas is non-polluting and reduces greenhouse emissions.
