  • Radon is a radioactive substance which is produced when the decay of uranium takes place in nuclear reactors.
  • The shelf life of radon is very less, hence it produces the rays which are very intense
  • The alpha particles emitted by the radon have the capacity to kill the cells (localized) of cancer, hence it is used in the treatment of various types of cancer (liver cancer, intestine cancer)
