The correct option is D $2$
Given 8th term $= 17$ and 14th term is $29$
$a_{8} = a + 7 d = 17..... (i)$
$a_{14} = a + 13 d = 29....... (i i)$
Solving eq. (i) and (ii) then we get,
$6 d = 12$
$\Rightarrow d = 2$
Putting this value of $d$ in equ (i),
$∴ a = 3$
