Solution

The correct option is C 68.8

Let there be x gm of CH3CHO and (0.535xgm) of C2H5OH.

(Only aldehyde reacts with Fehling's solution, not alcohol)

1 mol of CH3CHO (44 gm) = 1 mol of red ppt. of Cu2O (143 gm).

143gm of precipitate is obtained from 44 gm of CH3CHO.

1.2 gm of precipitate is obtained from:

44143×1.20.348 gm of CH3CHO

Percent of CH3CHO=0.3680.535×10068.8 %
