Velocity of mass 1 kg after the collision is given by
V1=(m1em2)u1+(1+e)m2u2m1+m2
Or V1=(123×2)×12+(1+23)×2×(24)1+2=28 m/s
Velocity of mass 2 kg after the collision is given by
V2=(mem1)u2+(1+e)m1u1m1+m2
Or V2=(223×1)×(24)+(1+23)×1×(12)1+2=4 m/s
