Given:
Object height =h=10 cm
Image height =h=30 cm
Focal length of the convex lens f=5 cm
From magnification formula:
m=hh=3010=3
also m=vu=3, where u is the object distance and v is the image distance.
v=3u
From lens formula, 1v1u=1f.
or, 13u1u=15
u=3.33 cm
Therefore, 3.33 cm is the object distance from lens.
