A 100 W electric bulb is lighted for 2 hours everyday and five 40 W tubes are lighted for 4 hours everyday. Calculate the energy consumed for 60 days and the cost of electricity consumed at the rate of Rs3 per KWH

Dear Student

Energy of 100 W bulb=Power×Time =100×2 =200 Whr

Energy of 40 W bulb 2 = 4×40×4 =640 Whr
Total energy consumed in one day=200+640 = 840 Wh
Energy consumed in 60 days = 840×30 =25200 Wh = 25.2 kWH

Cost of electricity consumed = 3 x 25.2 = 75.6Rs
