Question

A 150 m long train is moving with a constant velocity of 12.5m/s.
Find
(i) The equation of the motion of the train.
(ii) The time taken to cross a pole.
(iii) The time taken to cross the bridge of length 850m.

Solution

Length of train=150 m.

Constant velocity v=12.5 m/s

Speed=distancetime

i) equation of motion :-

150=12.5 t

ii) time taken to cross a pole

t=15012.5=12sec

iii) time take to cross a bridge=850+15012.5

=80sec.
