A 2.0 cm tall object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a concave lens of focal length 15 cm. At what distance from the lens, should the object be placed so that it forms an image 10 cm from the lens? Also find the nature and size of the image.

The lens formula is 1v - 1u = 1f110 - 1u = 1151u = 110 - 115u = 30 cmu and v both are positive which means that the image is formed on the same side as the objectand in case of lenses it is possible only when if the image formed is virtual.Therefore, the image formed is virtual.also, magnification = m = vu = 1030 = 13 = Size of the imageSize of the objectSize of image = Size of object3 = 23 = 0.67 cm and positive sign of m shows that the image is erect.
