Question

" a^2-2b^2 > 0
which implies a^2 > 2b^2 "
How do we know that?? Is it possible to solve across the less than/greater than signs??

Solution

It is easy to solve the equations with less than or greater than sign.
The special thing to be aware is when an -ve number is multipled in the both sides the less than symbol changes to greater than symbol and vice versa.
Eg: x-y > 1-z
Multiply by -1 on the both sides it becomes
y-x < z-1
Other processes like grouping of x values and y values are same as that we practiced in the lower classes
