A 2kg body and a 3kg body are moving along the x-axis. At a particular instant the 2kg body has a velocity of 3ms1 an dthe 3kg body has the velocity of 2ms1. The velocity of the centre of mass at that instant is :-

We know that velocity of centre of mass is given as
vcm=m1v1+m2v2m1+m22×3^i+3×2^i5=125^i
vcm==2.4^ims1
Hence the velocity of centre of mass at the instant will be 2.4ms1 along x-axis
