M3V3=M1V1+M2V2

M3=M1V1+M2V2V1+V2=(3×3)+(3×5)3+5=3M

M3V3=M4V4

3×8L=1×V4

24L=V4

V4=24L

The mixture should be diluted by=24L8L=16L

So, the mixture should be diluted by 16 L to make a solution of 1 M.
