The correct option is A 1.0 W

VNL=I2NL. ... (i)

VNL=EINL.R

where, E = 3V

and R = 2 Ω

VNL=32INL=I2NL

I2NL+2INL3=0

INL=3A or 1A

-3 A is rejected, because the non- linear resistor is passive and the only active element in the circuit is 3 V DC supply. Which is supplying the power to the resistor .

So, INL=1A

Power dissipated in the non-linear resistor

=VNLINL=I2NLINL

=I3NL=13=1W
