Total no. of $1 c m$ cubes $= \frac{V o l . o f 4 c m c u b e}{V o l . o f 1 c m c u b e}$
$= \frac{64}{1}$
$= 64$
Surface area of a cube $= 6 (s i d e)^{2} c m^{2}$
Surface area of a cube $= 6 (1)^{2} c m^{2}$
Surface area of a cube $= 6 c m^{2}$
Total surface area of all small cubes $= 64 \times 6 c m^{2}$
$= 384 c m^{2}$
