Solution

The correct option is A

118

The area of a triangle with vertices D(x, 3x), B(3, 5) and C(4, 2) is given below:

Area of ΔDBC=12 {x(5+2)3(23x)+4(3x5)}

Area of ΔDBC=(14x7) sq. units.

Similarly, the area of a triangle with vertices A(6, 3), B(3, 5) and C(4, 2) is given below :

ΔABC=12{6(5+2)3(23)+4(35)}

ΔDBC=492 sq units

Given : ΔDBC:ΔABC=1:2

2(14x7)49=12

8x4=7

x=118
