Solution

The correct option is C 76.56
Active earth pressure coeficient

ka=1sinϕ1+sinϕ=1sin3001+sin300=13

Earth pressure,

pa=ka(q+γz)2Cka

at z = 0

pa=13(5+18×0)2×60.33

=5.26kN/m2

For pa=0

0=13(5+18z)2×60.33

z = 0.87 m

at z = 6 m

pa=13(5+18×6)120.33

=30.74 kN/m2

Before the formation of crack,

Negative pressure,

p1=12×5.26×0.87=2.28 kN/m

Positive pressure,

p2=12×30.74×5.13=78.84 kN/m

Net pa=78.842.28
=76.56 kN/m
