Mass of the man $m_{1} = 60 k g$

Speed of the man = $v_{1} = 10 \frac{m}{s}$

Mass of the skater, $m_{2} = 40 k g$

Let its velocity=v

$∴ 60 \times 10 + 0 = 100 \times v$

$\Rightarrow v_{1} = 6 \frac{m}{s}$

loss in K.E.= $(\frac{1}{2}) 60 \times (10)^{2} - \frac{1}{2} \times 100 \times 36$

= 1200 J
