Let the second rope length is $x$ meters

Then length of first rope $=\frac{1}{5}\times x=\frac{x}{5}$ meters

But length of first rope is 7 meters

$\frac{x}{5}=7$

$\Rightarrow x=7\times 5$

$\Rightarrow x=35$

Then length of second rope is 35 meters
