(a). A point charge q is located at distance d from an infinite plane. If the electric flux through the plane due to the point charge is $X\left(q/2{\epsilon }_0\right)$. Find out the value of X?

The field lines emitting from charge q is as shown in figure and from this we can say that the lines on right side of AB will pass through the infinite plane. It means that half of flux ($q/{ϵ}_0$) due to point charge q will pass through the infinite plane.

Thus, the flux through plane is $\frac{q}{2{ϵ}_0}$
