(a). A point charge q is located at distance d from an infinite plane. If the electric flux through the plane due to the point charge is X(q/2ε0). Find out the value of X?

The field lines emitting from charge q is as shown in figure and from this we can say that the lines on right side of AB will pass through the infinite plane. It means that half of flux (q/ϵ0) due to point charge q will pass through the infinite plane.
Thus, the flux through plane is q2ϵ0
