$a = \frac{b (- 4) + 1 (3)}{b + 1} y = \frac{b (8) + 1 (- 5)}{b + 1}$
$= - \frac{4 b + 3}{b + 1}$ $= \frac{8 b - 5}{b + 1}$
$(x, y) l i e s o f x + y = 0$
$\Rightarrow \frac{- 4 b + 3}{b + 1} + \frac{8 b - 5}{b + 1} = 0 \Rightarrow \frac{- 4 b + 3 + 8 b - 5}{b + 1} = 0 \Rightarrow \frac{4 b - 2}{b + 1} = 0 \Rightarrow 4 b - 2 = 0 b = \frac{2}{4} = \frac{1}{2}$
