(a) Ethanoic acid, CH3COOH gives brisk effervescence with sodium hydrogen carbonate.

(b) A mixture of ethyne and air is not used for welding because the burning of ethyne in air produces a sooty flame (due to incomplete combustion) which is not hot enough to melt metals for welding.

(c) Addition reactions are a characteristic of unsaturated hydrocarbons.
