(a) Atul had 64 cards; he gave 55 cards to Hamda. What fraction of the cards is left with Atul? If Hamda loses 6 cards what fraction of cards in left with her?

(b) Saleema purchased $2\frac{1}{4}$ kg apples and $1\frac{3}{4}$ kg oranges. What is the total weight of fruits purchased by her?

Number of cards Atul had = 64
Number of cards left with Atul = 64 - 55 = 9

Fraction of cards left with Atul = $\frac{9}{64}$
Number of cards left with Hamda = 55 - 6 = 49

Fraction of cards left with Hamda = $\frac{49}{55}$


(b)
Total weight of fruits = $2\frac{1}{4}+1\frac{3}{4}$

= $\frac{2\times 4+1}{4}+\frac{1\times 4+3}{4}$
= $\frac{9}{4}+\frac{7}{4}$
= $\frac{16}{4}=4kg$
