Question

(-a-b) whole square.. Identity will open as??

Open in App
Solution

(-a-b)^2 = (-a)^2 + (-b)^2 + 2* (-a )*(-b)

the square of a negative value is positive

and also negative value multiplied by negative value is positive

therefore

(-a-b)^2 = a^2 +b^2 +2ab

it is the same expansion for (a+b)^2

in other words, we can take the negative sign outside the bracket

from both a and b.( as negative is common )

which change into postive due to the square
