Cholera is an acute bacterial disease. It is caused by comma-shaped bacteria Vibrio cholerae. This infection occurs due to contaminated food and water. Symptoms of this disease are sudden onset of severe diarrhoea and vomiting. Stools are watery and give a rice water appearance. The cholera epidemic is common in out countries during the floods and other natural calamities and water supply and sanitation go out of hand.
