Question

A bag contains 5 white, 6 red and 4 green balls. One ball is drawn at random from the bag. What is the probability that the ball drawn is
(i) green
(ii) white
(iii) non-red?

Open in App
Solution

Total number of possible outcomes = Total number of balls
= ( 5 + 6 + 4) = 15
(i) Number of green balls = 4
P (getting a green ball ) = 415

(ii) Number of white balls = 5
P (getting a white ball ) = 515 = 13

(iii) Total number of non-red balls = 9
P (getting a non-red ball ) = 915 = 35
