A ball is dropped, and its displacement vs time graph is as shown in figure. Displacement 𝑥 is from ground and all quantities are +𝑣𝑒 upwards.
Plot qualitatively velocity vs time graph.

Hint: Velocity is slope of displacement-time curve.

As given the ball is bouncing on the ground and from graph, we can see that displacement x is positive. Ball is dropped from a height and due to gravity pull its velocity increases in downward direction and it will be negative.




When ball rebounds in upward direction its velocity decreases but is positive. Since acceleration is constant, vt curve will be a straight line.
