A ball is dropped from height h on a horizontal floor. If it is loses 60% of its energy in hitting the floor then height upto which it will rose after rebounce is

Dear student
Let the bal is dropped from the height H
Total potential energy stored = mgH
as it lost it's 60% of energy on hitting the ground
Energy at the bottom is 0.4mgH
again it will lose energy while rebouncing
​ 0.4 ×0.4mgH = 0.16mgH
now using law of conservation of energy
mgH1 = 0.16mgH
where H1 is the height to which ball rebounds
H1 = 0.16H
