Given,
$u = 0.5 m s^{- 1}$
$a = 0.05 m s^{- 2}$
$v = 0$

$v^{2} = u^{2} - 2 a s$
or $0^{2} = (0.5)^{2} - (2 \times 0.05 \times s)$
or $0.1 s = 0.25$
or $s = 2.5 m$
