Let the velocity and mass of ball be v and m respectively.
Since change in velocity $= {\to v}_{2} - {\to v}_{1} = \sqrt{2} v$
Impulse (I)= Change in momentum $= m ({\to v}_{2} - {\to v}_{1}) = \sqrt{2} m v$
But, $m v = 5 N$
$\Rightarrow I = \sqrt{2} m v = 5 \sqrt{2}$ $k g m / s$
