The correct option is D 34Hmax
Let the speed of the ball is half i.e. u2 at point B at height h as shown in figure.

Applying 3rd equation of motion, between the points A and B,

(u2)2=u22gh

2gh=3u24

h=3u28g ....(1)

As the speed of the ball is zero at the maximum height Hmax, so on applying equation of motion between points A and C, we get

02=u22gHmax

u22g=Hmax ....(2)

So, from eqs. (1) & (2),

h=34×u22g=34Hmax

Hence, option (d) is correct.
