Solution

A ball 1 moving with velocity u collides with an identical ball 2 at rest, then after collision

v2 = (1+e)/2 *u and v1= (1-e)/2 *u, where u is initial speed of ball 1.

ratio is = v2/v1 = (1+e) / (1-e)
v2=(1+e2)
