Solution

The correct option is C 6m/s,12m/s
Mass of first ball is m1=10 kg and its velocity before collision u1=10 m/s
Mass of second ball is m2=5 kg and its velocity before collision u2=4 m/s
Velocity of first ball after collision v1=(m1em2)u1+(1+e)m2u2m1+m2
where e=1 (elastic collision)
v1=(101×5)(10)+(1+1)(5)(4)10+5=6 m/s
Velocity of second ball after collision v2=(m2em1)u2+(1+e)m1u1m1+m2
v2=(51×10)(4)+(1+1)(10)(10)10+5=12 m/s
