Question

A ball of mass 2 kg is thrown up with a speed of 10 m/s. Fin the kinetic energy of the ball at the time of throwing .l Also find the potential enrgy of hte ball at the highest point. ( given g = 10 m/s.)

Solution

Kinetic energy at the time of throwing:KE=12mv2 =12×2×102 = 100 JFrom the law of conservation of energy, the potential energy at the highestpoint is equal to kinetic energy at the lowest point.Hence,Potential energy at the highest point = 100 J
