Solution

The correct option is A 4^i+4^j+4^k m/s
Given, initial velocity vi=(2^i+3^j+4^k)m/s and m=2 kg
Impulse imparted
J=(4^i+2^j) N.s

Applying J=mΔv
J=m(vfvi) ...(i)
where vf is the velocity of ball just after receiving the impulse

Putting the values in Eq. (i)
(4^i+2^j)=2[vfvi]
(2^i+^j)=vfvi
vf=vi+(2^i+^j)
vf=(2^i+3^j+4^k)+(2^i+^j)
vf=(4^i+4^j+4^k) m/s
