Given, m1=4kg u1=u (say) m2=m & u2=0 (at rest)
also, v1=u/4 and collision is elastic
From collision theory,
v1=(m1m2m1+m2)u1+(2m2m1+m2)u2
Put values
u4=(4m4+m)u+04+m=4(4m)m=125=2.4kg (Ans)
