Solution

According to Boyle’s Law p1V1 = p2V2
The initial pressure p1 is 1 bar and the initial volume V1 is 2.27 L
The final pressure at which the balloon will burst is p2 = 0.2 bar. And we are supposed to find out the final volume.
⇒ V2 = p1V1 /P2

⇒ V2 = 1bar × 2.27 / 0.2
=11.35 L
Since balloon bursts at 0.2 bar pressure, the volume of balloon should be less than
11.35 L.
