Question

a balloon with hydrogen in IT Rises up but a balloon with air comes down why

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student, Hydrogen being lighter, the density of the balloon filled with hydrogen gas becomes less than air so the upthrust becomes more than its weight. Hence, it goes up in air. While if it is filled with air, it appears heavier due to the compressed air and weight becomes more than the upthrust so it comes down. Regards
