The magnetic field due to a bar magnet at an axial point is double in magnitude than that at an equatorial point. The magnetic field at distance d due to the bar magnet at the equator is equal to BH (=earth's magnetic field) since it's a neutral point. At an axial point, the earth's field and the bar's field will point in the same direction and hence add up. Hence, net field = 2BH+BH=3BH
