Dear Student,

the geographic north is actually the magnetic south of our earth . it means that the north pole of the earths magnet lie at geographic south pole.when we suspend the magnet the north pole of the magnet is attracted by the magnetic south pole of the earth that is north pole . it is named as geographic north because the magnet north shows that direction .
