Let average of 15 innings be y.

Total score (upto 15thinnings)15=y

Total score (upto 15thinnings)=15y

According to the given condition, we have

y+2=15y+7016

16y+32=15y+70

y=38

Therefore, average after 16 innings =15×38+7016
=570+7016=64016=40
