Let the average after 13 innings = x

Total runs scored in 13 innings = 13x

From question, average after 12 innings = (x-3)

Total runs scored in 12 innings = 12(x-3)

We know that -

Total runs scored in 12 innings + 82 = Total runs scored in 13 innings

12(x-3) + 82 = 13x

12x - 36 + 82 = 13x

x = 46
