The correct option is B $55$
Assume his initial average $= X$
His total runs after 6 innings $= 6 X$
After scoring 80 runs his average got increased by 5 to $X + 5$
So his total runs after 6 innings $= 6 \times (X + 5)$
But it was given that the difference in the total scores after 5 innings and 6 innings $= 80$
$∴ 6 \times (X + 5) - 5 X = 80$
$\Rightarrow 6 X + 30 - 5 X = 80$
$x = 50$
His new average $= 50 + 5 = 55$
